Located in the county of Beds in the East of England, the tranquil town of Leighton Buzzard stands near to the border between Bucks and Bedfordshire, beside the Grand Union Canal, the town has a population of approximately 37,000 and a past harping back to the Roman period, at which time the early Watling Street (now the A-5) passed by the town. These days Leighton Buzzard is more or less joined to the nearby town of Linslade and it is approximately midway between Milton Keynes (Bucks) and Luton, it is situated close to the Chiltern Hills and boasts a significant sand quarrying industry.
